YouTube, Gmail and Google services down for users worldwide

The Google-owned family of apps crashed for users worldwide on Monday.

YouTube, Gmail and Google services displayed error messages.

DownDetector, a website that detects whether sites are down, says that the issues started at around 11:56 GMT.

The site recorded more than 43,000 reports of YouTube being down.

At the same time, reports that Gmail was down also spiked, with more than 16,000 within a few minutes of the site crashing.

Other Google services also crashed, including Google sheets.

Those trying to access Yotube saw a message reading “oops”, a note saying that “something went wrong” and a picture of a monkey carrying a tool.
