NSMQ 2021: Presec-Legon

The Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School (Presec-Legon) has sailed through to the final stage of this year’s National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) after recording a flawless victory over St. Peter’s SHS and Chemu SHS on Tuesday.

After that crunch encounter, the six-time champions made it clear that they are prepared to make it seven and win the championship back to back just as they did in 2008 and 2009.

This win makes it their third consecutive year of being in the finals. Judging from their previous contests, the ‘Odadeɛs’ were expected to ‘slay’ their contenders.

The victory sent Presec supporters roaring beyond control in the Saarah-Mensah Auditorium at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

Three-time winners, St. Peter’s SHS, failed to increase their tally to four as they could not double their efforts to be at par with their rivals.

Having been ranked as one of the seeded schools to partake in NSMQ 2022, they can restore that hope in the next edition of the national championship.

Chemu SHS, after defeating 2019 champions St. Augustine’s College, could not be as impressive as was anticipated. The giant layers crawled with few points that barred them from entering the ‘promised land.’

All three schools had some difficulties. However, those parasitic questions got all the schools racking their brains only to receive ‘oh no’ answers.

At the end of the contest, the ‘Christian gentlemen’ amassed 50 points. On the other hand, Persco recorded 34 points while Chemu SHS managed only 21 points.

Are you astonished about the margin? That will be too early because the ‘Presecans’ who tout that they are ‘seven a living God’ have promised to deliver another outstanding contest in the grand finale.
