If approved, she will come to replace her beleaguered colleague MP for Dome-Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo who was last week relieved of her appointment by the President.

This was after she had deserted her post for several months, with her absence affecting government business, especially in Parliament where she is supposed to represent the interest of her constituents.

Parliament is also considering the option of declaring her seat vacate after several months of not attending proceedings in the house and without the knowledge and approval of the Speaker.

Meanwhile, under article 79 of the Constitution, the President has also nominated the Member of Parliament for Kwabre East, Francisca Oteng Mensah as Deputy Minister-designate for Gender, Children, and Social Protection, subject to the approval of Parliament.

He is hopeful Parliament will expedite the approval of these two nominees for this important Ministry for their assistance in the effective delivery of his mandate for his the second term in office.
