The Kotoka International Airport is recording positive cases of COVID-19 among travelers coming to Ghana at an alarming rate.

A letter sighted by gh-aviation.com from Frontier Healthcare services (FHS) states that, as at 24th April, 2021, “we recorded seventy-five (75) positive cases. This exceeds the previous highest rate of forty-five (45) positive cases recorded on the 21st April, 2021.”

According to the letter, a previous memo had already been sent to the Managing Director of the Ghana Airports Company Limited, Yaw Kwakwa on 21st April, 2021 bringing to his attention the,” unprecedented rate of positive cases being recorded” at the airport.

They appealed to the authorities to implement further stringent measures on the quality of PCR results acceptable for entry into the country because it had, “become imperative to implement new guidelines to curtail the influx of positive cases into the country” Kudzo Seneadza, the Managing Director of FHS said.
