Since Thursday, May 6 of this year, Ghana has recorded only one death of the coronavirus pandemic. A rate very low compared to many other countries.

The situation is being attributed to the mass vaccination exercise embarked upon from March with a target to vaccinate 20 million of the entire population by close of year.

According to the periodic updates given by the Ghana Health Service (GHS) on its website, between Thursday, May 6 and Saturday, May 29, only one person died of the viral disease.

The death toll as at the last date of fatality was 783 and was on Saturday updated to 784.

The active cases between that same period has also seen a reduction from 1,583 to 1,138.

More patients appear to recover from the disease as, so far, 91,853 patients out of 93,775 have recovered or been discharged.

As of Saturday, May 29, six patients are in critical conditions while 18 are in severe conditions.

The country first recorded cases of the virus on Thursday, March 12, 2020.
