World football governing body FIFA is currently reviewing the world cup qualifying match between Ghana and South Africa after it received a complaint from the South African Football Association.
“FIFA has received a complaint from the South African FA in relation to this matter and will review it. Please understand we cannot comment further at this stage”, FIFA said a statement.
The South African Football Association on Sunday hinted of plans to petition FIFA follow their game with Ghana which ended in 1-0 in favour of Ghana.
The South African side said the game was fraught with irregularities.
South Africa Football Association CEO, Tebogo Motlanthe at a press conference said
“The association (SAFA) has decided to lodge a formal complaint so that the conduct of the match officials are closely investigated by both FIFA and CAF but we will be having a press conference to tell the nation what will be happening going forward.”
