Instagram, WhatsApp, and Facebook Messenger apps crashed on Friday.
“We’re aware that some people are having trouble accessing some services across the Facebook family of apps,” a Facebook spokesperson told Insider. “We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible.”
The Facebook-owned sites and Messenger appeared to go down around 1:30 p.m. ET, according to DownDetector . Facebook’s desktop site appeared to be working.
The outage appeared to impact users in numerous countries, including Mexico and India, according to comments on DownDetector.
There are a number of issues currently affecting Facebook products, including gaming streams. Multiple teams are working on it, and we'll update you when we can.
