Ghana has been drawn against Morocco in Group C for the 2021 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (Cameroon 2021), to be played in Cameroon from January 9 to February 6, 2022.

Other nations in the Group are Gabon and Comoros, whereas Cameroon, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, and Cape Verde will sort themselves out in Group A.

The draw for the 33rd edition of Africa’s football showpiece held Tuesday evening (August 17, 2021) pit hosts Cameroon against Burkina Faso in the opening game.

The draw yielded very interesting pairings and appears to be the answer to the prayer of former Ghana captain, Asamoah Gyan, who had wished the Black Stars get a favorable draw to be able to make it out of the group stages during the finals.

“We’re hoping for a good draw for Ghana with an affordable group, because everyone wants to go through the first round and continue the adventure. All I can say is I wish Ghana the best of luck in the draw. Ghana is a country of football, with many talents. We have a team of young people who play well in their clubs. It’s a rebuilding team with a new coach,” Cafonline.com quotes the man to have scored the highest goals (51) for the Black Stars.
