2022 WCQ: Ghana coach CK Akonnor names starting XI for South Africa game

Ghana head coach, Charles Kwablan Akonnor has announced his starting XI Black Stars starting line-up for their game against South Africa in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Akonnor has made seven changes in his squad list for the all-important fixture against the Bafana Bafana at the FNB Stadium.

Hearts of Oak captain, Fatawu Mohammed has earned a starting berth with Majeed Ashimeru who replaces Iddrisu Baba in central midfield.

Duo Yaw Yeboah and Emmanuel Lomotey who tasted minutes in Ghana’s 1-0 win over Ethiopia are in the lineup against the South Africans.


Russia-based striker Joel Fameyeh will be leading the attack for the senior national team of Ghana in today’s encounter.

The game has been scheduled to kick off at 16:00GMT.
